In November, 1999, RAGS hosted a workshop in Edinburgh, at which 14 developers of NLG systems from the international community were invited to re-cast their systems in the RAGS formalism.

The project organised a Workshop on Reference Architectures and Data Standards for NLP as part of the AISB'99 Convention, which was held in Edinburgh, 6-9 April 1999

A panel discussion on "Reference Architectures for Generation Systems" was held at the 9th International Natural Language Generation Workshop, at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada in August of 1998. A report of this is available here.
