central southern England.

wing rooms, the majority having balcony or terrace overlooking the

The New Forest
The New Forest is a
remarkable corner of the English countryside set aside as a special
place more than nine centuries ago by William the Conqueror. This most
English of forests continues to be a living and working community
where ponies and cattle still have right of way as they freely graze
the land. Deeper in the forest wild deer browse beneath canopies of
mighty oak and beech - natural scenes unchanged by the modern world.
Popular forest activities are horse riding, cycling, fishing and
rambling. There are excellent pubs, restaurants and traditional
tearooms to visit, nature reserves, historic buildings, famous
gardens, and picturesque villages with speciality shops.
The nearby coast offers sailing, surfing
and other watersports, long sandy beaches and steep chalk cliffs.
