Key facts

Camera-ready copy submission format

The following guidelines apply to both main and student session papers. Main papers must be no more than ten (10) pages long, student papers no more than seven (7) pages long, including references, and should be submitted both as latex source and PDF format. The deadline for submission is May 5, 2004.

Papers should follow the style instructions specified in the LNCS/LNAI Instructions for Authors. A number of original submissions did not follow these instructions. We will be much stricter about this for final copy!

We strongly recommend use of the latex2e macros provided by Springer for this purpose. A copy of their ZIP archive for latex2e is available here, and the files in the archive are available individually here. Here is an extract from Springer's website describing this archive:

    Proceedings and Other Multiauthor Volumes - Using LaTeX2e

    We want to add hyperlinks to your manuscript in the online version, so we recommend the use of LaTeX2e for the preparation of your camera-ready manuscript, together with the corresponding Springer class file - llncs2e.zip contains:

    1. llncs.cls, Springer class file;
    2. llncs.dem, sample input file, you can use it as a source for your own input;
    3. llncs.doc (actually a TeX file), the documentation of the class, with detailed instructions on how the macro package works;
    4. llncs.dvi, DVI resulting out of llncs.doc.
Note: The file llncs.dem in the Springer archive contains an example of a full proceedings manuscript and so is not quite suitable for single paper submission. We have created a further file llncs2e-example.tex (plus output file llncs2e-example.pdf) which is a more appropriate starting point for your paper. (This file is not part of the archive file.)
